Housing Authority of Baltimore City
The Housing Authority of Baltimore County (HABC) needed to upgrade 11 public housing facilities in Baltimore City to bring them up to neighborhood market rate. The buildings, primarily houses for seniors with low incomes, were in dire need of transformation. Extensive upgrades encompassed architectural features, interior design, and furnishings.
JSR was brought into the project because of our 20-plus years of experience in elder care markets. We assessed the buildings, determined the scope of the work, and met with residents and staff members to get an understanding of the environment and culture.
The changes we made transformed the buildings: dark and dingy corridors became bright, open spaces that the residents and staff found more welcoming and livable.
