JSR Associates, Inc. provided senior living consulting, programming, and design for Evermore Senior Living. The client is new to the industry and has been open to the discussion of the integration of care models and design to maximize resident outcomes. The home will accommodate 8 residents plus staff in a residential setting. Phase II includes an additional home for 8 residents and a care giver suite on the lower level. The open and integrated space layout contributes to interaction and socialization while spacious resident rooms provide privacy and access to their own accessible bathroom that reduces fall risk and enhances dignity and choice.

The edges between different types of living and care settings continue to blur as opportunities from the residential community and the deinstitutionalization of traditional models are developing for residents needing assisted living and memory care services. The goal of this presentation is to explore innovation as a means for designing and providing smaller-scale homes that are as close to everyday living as possible. Join us for the journey and the potential adventure of rethinking the delivery of assisted living and memory care services for elders and their families. Case study examples will be shared and provide a basis for the discussion.
