On August 27, 2010 from 6:30-10:00 PM, Perspectives Art Gallery will be hosting their second open house. This reception and exhibition will also operate as a fundraiser in honor of a dear friend, family member and photographer who was diagnosed with MS at an early age. Through the Looking Lens: Photography Exhibition will house local photographers as well as the work from children from local schools and The Children’s Home residents ranging in ages 3 to 17. A percentage of the sales of the professional photographs will go towards the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the works displayed by The Children’s Home will support their Art for Cash program. Award Winning Team
JSR Associates, Inc., is part of the winning team for an AIA Design for Aging Award for The Hope House located in Rantoul, Illinois. The winning team also includes Brenda Eheart and David Hopping from Generations of Hope, John Shoesmith from Mithun, Steve Cox, Elizabeth Brawley from Design Concepts, and Eunice Noell-Waggoner from The Center of Design for an Aging Society. The jury presented the award during the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) National Conference in November, 2009 (more information).
VA Hospitals Go Green
JSR has been contracted by The Green Building Initiative™ to provide third party Green Globes™ assessments for 21 VA Hospitals around the country! This opportunity is allowing JSR to compare the different acute care settings; providing case studies and recommendations that support the sustainable continual improvement of these existing facilities.
On September 30, 2009, Jane Rohde, principal of JSR Associates, Inc., provided testimony to the House Committee on Veterans Affairs on the utilization of the Green Globes on-line building rating system in relationship to Energy Efficiency at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on behalf of The Green Building Initiative.
