Healthcare Design for All

In this article, Jane Rohde discusses the importance of design relating to staff functionality. Functional Programming is important to any design process, especially those where several different groups of people are involved, i.e. patients, residents, staff, care-givers and visitors. Specific design elements include operational components that require the proper training in order to be successful. Including everyone in the design process allows the client to support the staff who will in turn better support the residents. Referencing all of these groups and their needs ands concerns are another important piece to the puzzle.  The design needs to not only be appealing, but also meet the operational needs for everyone working there.
